White Leads Chargers Again at Skyhawk Classic

Freshman Trace White (Mount Pleasant, Iowa/Mount Pleasant) had the Carl Sandburg College men’s golf team’s low round for the third straight stroke-play event as the Chargers finished fifth in the Skyhawk Classic on Friday at Rock River Golf and Pool.
White shot a 7-over-par 77 while Sandburg totaled a 339 for the day. Matt Graves (Oneida, Ill./ROWVA), playing as an individual for the Chargers, shot 82.
Black Hawk’s Mick Haverland was medalist with a 2-over 72. Black Hawk also won the tournament with a score of 298 to edge DuPage by a shot.
UP NEXT
The Chargers play in the IVCC Classic this weekend. The first round is 12:30 p.m. Friday at Senica’s Oak Ridge in Oglesby, with the second round starting at 8 a.m. Saturday at Deer Park in LaSalle.
